THIRTY SECONDS OVER TOKYO

A Wartime Hardcover with an Extensive WWII Aviation Signature Collection

A distinctive copy of Captain Ted W. Lawson’s account of the Doolittle Raid, bearing signatures identified as James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle, Gregory “Pappy” Boyington, Saburo Sakai, and numerous German aviation figures.

The principal attraction is the breadth of the autograph collection: American, Japanese, and German aviation history represented within a single volume. Doolittle’s signature has particular relevance to a book recounting the mission he led. Boyington and Sakai extend the collection’s appeal to the Pacific air war, while the German signatures encompass fighter pilots and aviation commanders.

Seventeen signature entries appear across four preliminary pages in blue and black ink. Additional handwritten signatures appear on the map endpaper and dedication page.
