Second Chapter Book Co. is an independent, veteran-owned bookstore based in Virginia, founded by U.S. Army infantry veteran Mike Oleksyn.
We specialize in vintage, rare, and collectible books—volumes with history in their pages and character in their bindings. Our selection spans military history, exploration, science, religion, literature, and subjects you might never have thought to search for.
For Mike, the appeal is in the discovery: an overlooked account, a remarkable illustration, or a book that offers a different view of its time. Second Chapter Book Co. brings those discoveries to readers and collectors who appreciate them.
We offer clear photographs, honest condition descriptions, and careful packaging. Whether you’re pursuing a lifelong interest or discovering a new one, we’re here to help you find a book worth keeping.
