Aerospace research, optical engineering, fluid mechanics, and early laser-Doppler measurement technology. Contributions of System Parameters in the Doppler Method of Fluid Velocity Determination by Robert Levi Bond, an original 1968 doctoral dissertation submitted to the University of Arkansas. The research was partially supported by National Aeronautics and Space Administration Grant NGR-04-001-015. This highly specialized study examines the theory, equipment, experimental design, limitations, noise, polarization effects, scattering centers, heterodyned laser beams, signal-to-noise ratios, and solid and liquid volume scatterers involved in Doppler fluid-velocity measurement. Includes 102 numbered pages followed by tables and numerous full-page technical figures and experimental diagrams. The formal approval page is hand-signed by the major professor and four dissertation committee members. Bound in red cloth with the complete title and author’s name stamped in gilt on the front and spine. Condition is good, with exterior rubbing, light marks, minor edge wear, age-toning, and some marks and staining to the page edges. Binding remains sound and interior contents are generally clean and readable. Please review all photographs carefully—the exact original dissertation offered is shown.
