Vintage British salmon-fishing guide based on the author’s extensive practical experience catching, playing, and landing salmon. Written for anglers and collectors of classic sporting literature, it discusses fly fishing, spinning, equipment, boat work, fish behavior, and the author’s accumulated observations from catching more than one thousand salmon. First edition published in 1957 by George Allen & Unwin as part of the Angling Times Series, illustrated with black-and-white photographic plates. Hardcover with original dust jacket. Moderate foxing and age-toning are present, especially on the endpapers, title page, and page edges. The dust jacket has rubbing, scratches, staining, edge wear, and several tears and losses; the front flap is substantially separated but remains present inside the protective cover. A large unidentified ink signature/inscription and former bookseller’s pencil notations appear on the front endpaper; this is not being represented as the author’s signature. Binding remains intact.
