The Book of Pottery and Porcelain by Warren E. Cox, a two-volume illustrated reference devoted to ceramic history, craftsmanship, and identification. This set helps collectors, antique dealers, and ceramic enthusiasts recognize decorative styles, compare examples, and deepen their understanding of the pottery and porcelain they collect.

Published by Crown Publishers, New York, with a 1944 copyright. Includes Volumes I and II in rust-colored cloth hardcover bindings, each with its original dust jacket in a clear protective cover. The work features 3,000 illustrations, including photographic examples, color plates, and reference tables of makers’ marks. Its coverage explores the history, techniques, and distinguishing characteristics of pottery and porcelain from around the world.

The copyright page includes a wartime manufacturing statement concerning government restrictions on paper and other materials, adding an interesting World War II publishing detail.

Condition: Very Good books in Good dust jackets. Cloth boards show light shelf wear. Pages have age toning, with occasional spotting visible near the front gutter. Both jackets show toning, surface soiling, edge wear, chips, and tears, particularly at the spine ends. Volume I’s jacket has an old tape repair and associated damage on the lower spine. Clear protective covers preserve the jackets and provide an attractive presentation. Please review the photographs for condition details.
