Original August 1942 inaugural issue of The Globe Beam, Volume I, No. 1, published by Globe Aircraft Corporation of Fort Worth, Texas, primarily for its personnel.

This illustrated wartime magazine documents Globe’s aircraft development, factory operations, and contribution to the WWII production effort. An appealing piece for collectors of aviation history, Texas industry, military home-front material, and Globe Swift memorabilia.

Features include early Swift GC-1 photographs and coverage of the suspension of its production for wartime priorities; AT-10 trainer production in “Globe’s Place in a Global War”; and “Design for Flight,” discussing the company’s transition to war production. The “Wings Over Texas” cover pairs a horseback rider with a Swift in flight, while the back cover features an Uncle Sam war-bond appeal.

Very Good overall condition, with light age toning, cover edge and spine wear, small creases, and light spotting on the back cover. Interior pages are clean and well preserved. No unpleasant odor. Please review photographs for condition and contents.
