The Royal Natural History, edited by Richard Lydekker, is a beautifully illustrated Victorian work on the animal world. This 1896 section focuses on invertebrates, with vivid color plates and detailed black-and-white engravings. It gives a collector or natural history enthusiast both a striking display book and a window into nineteenth-century zoological illustration.

This listing is for one book: Volume VI, Section XII, Invertebrates. It is not the complete series or the complete Volume VI. Published by Frederick Warne & Co., London and New York, in 1896. Green decorated cloth hardcover with gilt lettering and botanical designs. The photographed illustrations include sea anemones and marine mollusks.

Condition: Good. The decorated front cover remains attractive, with light marks and rubbing. There is wear at the spine ends and corners, age toning to the page edges, scattered foxing, and a previous owner’s name inside. One area of the page fore edge has a pronounced indentation and unevenness, shown in the photographs. The pictured color plates and text remain bright and readable. Please review the photos closely for the binding and page-edge condition.
