Scarce official World War II after-action report documenting the operations of the U.S. 12th Army Group under General Omar Bradley.
Volume X covers the Chaplain, Finance, Inspector General, Judge Advocate, Provost Marshal, and Special Service Sections. Its contents include military justice, discipline, investigations, suspected war crimes and wanted witnesses, confinement records, inspections, financial operations, and other administrative activities accompanying the Allied advance across Western Europe.
Includes detailed operational material, statistical tables, and a large color foldout map tracing the advance from Normandy through France and into Germany.
The title page bears original “Secret,” “Confidential,” “Restricted,” and “Unclassified” markings, including a declassification/regrading stamp from the Office of the Secretary of the Army. These markings give the volume particularly strong military and archival character.
Hardcover former Brooklyn Public Library reference copy with library labels, stamps, edge markings, and other institutional indications. Covers show rubbing, scattered marks, corner wear, and discoloration along the spine. Pages have age toning, but the photographed interior remains clean and highly readable. Binding appears secure. Foldout map shows expected creasing from storage. No dust jacket.
A substantial and unusually specialized primary-source record of the senior American field headquarters responsible for directing Allied armies from Normandy through the defeat of Germany.
