Classic detective fiction and Sherlock Holmes scholarship come together in this complete two-volume hardcover edition of The Annotated Sherlock Holmes. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s four novels and 56 short stories are presented with William S. Baring-Gould’s introduction, notes, and bibliography, alongside maps, period photographs, and illustrations. The added context gives readers a richer sense of Holmes’s Victorian world and makes this a rewarding set to revisit, study, or display. Both volumes retain their dust jackets and the original illustrated slipcase. These are second-edition printings: Volume I is the tenth printing from 1974, and Volume II is the seventh printing from 1972. The books are in very good overall shape. There is minor damage to a dust-jacket corner, light discoloration along the lower endpapers, and rubbing, edgewear, and an old label on the slipcase.
