Matching pair of French military medical officer’s gold-tone bullion epaulette holders, known as attentes d’épaule. Each measures approximately 3.5 inches long.
Raised metallic embroidery features mirrored diagonal detailing and bullion borders over crimson velvet. The design and backing are consistent with French medical officer uniform fittings, probably junior-officer pattern. These shoulder straps were used in conjunction with ceremonial epaulettes.
Possibly WWII-era; exact manufacturing date is unconfirmed. An attractive pair for a French militaria collection or historical uniform display.
Good used condition with scattered tarnishing, some displaced bullion wire, and fraying and loose threads along the fabric edges. Red velvet backing retains its stitching. Please examine all photographs for construction and condition.
