An extensive American genealogy and New England family-history collection tracing the Strong family from Elder John Strong of Northampton, Massachusetts, through generations of descendants across the United States. These books preserve thousands of individual family records, including names, relationships, births, marriages, deaths, residences, occupations, military service, and biographical details. They offer a tremendous research resource for Strong-family descendants, genealogists, historical societies, libraries, and collectors of early American and colonial family histories.
The collection includes both volumes of Benjamin W. Dwight’s History of the Descendants of Elder John Strong of Northampton, Mass. Originally published in Albany in 1871, this monumental genealogy was reprinted by Gateway Press in 1984 under the sponsorship of Jarvis A. Strong Jr.
Also included is Strong Family History Update, Volume I: Jedediah Strong and His Descendants by Lyle A. Strong. Published by Gateway Press in 1989 for the Strong Family Association of America, this additional volume extends the Jedediah Strong branch from the original 1871 material through April 1989. It also features a color presentation of the Strong family arms.
All three substantial hardcovers have matching burgundy bindings with gold lettering and decoration. The books remain in very good condition with firm bindings, clean pages, and attractive covers showing only light shelf wear. The page edges have a few small marks, and the heavy volumes show mild curvature or bowing from their size and storage. No writing, highlighting, or major interior damage observed. Please review all photographs carefully for the exact contents and condition. This is the exact three-book collection pictured.
