True first edition and first printing of Cane River Cuisine, published in November 1974 by the Service League of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
This influential regional cookbook preserves traditional recipes and foodways from Louisiana’s historic Cane River country. The recipes were gathered from Service League members and area families, creating both a practical cookbook and a cultural record of one of Louisiana’s oldest communities.
Later printings became popular throughout the region, making this original November 1974 printing the preferred version for collectors of Louisiana cookbooks, community cookbooks, Southern culinary history, and Natchitoches memorabilia.
Original plastic-comb binding. Covers show substantial rubbing, scratches, fading, edge wear, creasing, and peeling, with heavier wear around the comb holes and corners. Interior pages have age-related toning and general handling wear. Please review all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
