Merrill’s Marauders (February–May 1944) is an official U.S. War Department history of jungle warfare in Burma during World War II. For military collectors and readers, it offers a detailed understanding of the Marauders’ operations, showing how terrain, supply difficulties, and small-unit combat shaped their campaign.

Published by the Historical Division, War Department, in the American Forces in Action series, with the statement “First Issued 4 June 1945.” Original softcover publication with striking red map-design covers and marching-soldier imagery.

The account covers the force’s organization and training, casualty evacuation, communications, and missions at Walawbum, Shaduzup, Inkangahtawng, Nhpum Ga, and Myitkyina. Illustrated with military photographs, operational maps, and tactical sketches. Includes a foreword by General George C. Marshall with his printed facsimile signature.

Condition: Good overall. Covers show age toning, light soiling, edge wear, and small corner creases. Pages are toned, with scattered spotting and localized moisture staining visible along the margins of several preliminary pages. Some waviness and unevenness to the page edges, with wear around the inner staple area. The photographed text and map remain clear and readable. Please examine the photographs for condition details.
