$125.00
WWII naval warfare and ship-recognition reference originally issued by the United States War Department on June 19, 1941, before America formally entered World War II. FM 30-55 was prepared under the direction of the Chief of Staff to help officers and servicemen identify German naval vessels. It contains period photographs, silhouettes, specifications, armament details, and recognition views covering submarines, battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and other naval craft. The original cover and title page retain the period “Restricted” classification marking, giving this surviving field copy strong historical character. Condition is poor but displayable: the paper covers are heavily worn, creased, chipped, and largely separated; the text block has separated sections, loose or partially detached pages, edge tears, losses, stains, and general handling wear. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact condition. Sold as a genuine historical reference artifact. Decorative bookends and letter opener shown for scale and presentation are not included.
